The letter  F

On the national clubmeetingday, october 2004, I met, like many other woodturners, a girl who was demonstrating nothing, but showing some drawings about a project she has developed.

Her name was Esther Ermers and she was a student at the Design Academy in Eindhoven.

For her study, she designed 24 objects based on handwriten letters from the alfabet and was looking for woodturners to help her making these 24 objects in wood. To see the letter F in the object I made for her (see pictures below),  imagine a handwriten letter F witch is fast rotating on the vertical axis.  The gostimage you get, gives the form of these objects.
To have made 24 objects by a proffesional woodturner would be to expensive for a student, so she was looking for vollunteers to help her. It was a nice project to do and I'm very happy that I could helpt her.
All the objects are painted white and have a function also, you can sit on it.
